A unit of the National Plan is functioning in the college, whose main objective is that the students should develop their personality and increase their experience through social service. To make the program innovative, awareness about AIDS, necessity of adopting a colony, literacy, environmental protection, women development and upliftment, wasteland development, development programs run by the nation and the state have been linked with CHAI in an integrated manner. Every year, state level certificates and honor are given to the volunteers who do excellent work for two continuous years and 240 hours. 100 girl students are registered in the 6th unit of the college approved by the state government.
The Red Ribbon Club is a voluntary on-campus intervention program for students in educational institutions. It is initiated and supported by the State AIDS Control Society and implemented through multi-sectoral collaboration, particularly, using the services of cadre officers of the State’s National Service Scheme (NSS).
Along with academic work, importance is also given to sports and physical education in the college. In this field, the students of the institution have established high dimensions of success. The college has facilities for all games under the able guidance of trained DPE. The college has a huge sports ground where equipment and facilities are made available for the players to play. Talented players are also provided some special concessions and financial assistance on the basis of the rules of the college.
To highlight and develop the inner intellectual qualities of the students, a two-day fair is organized by the Science and Home Science departments every year in the month of December/January. In this, students of 11th and 12th class from various schools of the city are invited along with the students of the college. In this fair, the students themselves not only show their talent by making charts, static and working models on various themes with their own dedication, but also present simple and useful solutions for the daily needs of normal life. Various software are created by the students studying computer for website creation and work simplification. The clothes, embroidery and knitting work, paintings and other various useful items made by the students of Home Science throughout the year are displayed. Apart from this, rangoli, mehndi, salad decoration, dish making etc. are displayed. All the exhibitions are in the form of competition and prizes are given to the first and second place winners.
